This is a parody of the infamous final court scene from A Few Good Men.  In this hysterical video, Tom Cruise is questioning what appears to be a VP of Sales and trying to get “THE TRUTH” on his expense report.  This is a must watch for sales and marketing professionals.  You should also get your [...]

Before you watch this video I have one thing to say “WHAT TIME IS IT?”  This is a useful video on tips for job searchers, but on a funny note, there is this enormous clock this woman is standing by that just takes your attention most of the video.  Pretty funny.  Moving forward you should [...]

Working a show is not easy.  On your feet all day, with a smile and constantly talking to clients and prospects (if your booth is busy).  With that, booth staff needs water and snacks etc, etc.  A must to keep staff going, but suddenly your booth looks like a snack stand.

Pat Evans video just not funny

This is just not a funny sales video. I don’t know what Pat Evans is doing here but this is just horrible. I don’t know how people could think this is amusing at all, but Pat Evans, writer of SalesBURST apparently thinks it is. Just horrible, but he does play a mean [...]

2

As with almost all tradeshows and conferences, an attendee’s first priority is to attend sessions and second priority is to visit the show floor.   This is fine for the show, but for the exhibiting companies that are spending loads of money for floor sponsorships, this raises concerns.

“We survived the Houston flood – XYZ Company, delivering solutions through anything”
This was many, many years back.  We were exhibiting at a show in Houston and we had nothing in the way of creative promotion or promotion at all.  Essentially we were just armed with corporate brochures and our good looks to draw attendees to [...]

I’m not going to get into the whole creative concept behind one of our marketing initiatives.  What I am going to tell you is we purchased a professional shark costume to use at a tradeshow.  This is some years back, the cost was approximately $1400 and it was awesome.  If you wore this costume to [...]

This story has it all: Coin cell batteries, promo items, doctors and a frantic account manager.  Fear not, this story has a happy ending.
Several years ago, after a show, I received a frantic call from an account manager/upset father.  At the time, one of the promotional items we used at our tradeshows was a bubble [...]

Downside of concerts as client appreciation events

Posted on 10. Oct, 2008 by p syrek.

The goals for any customer appreciation event are fairly standard across the board.  The event is a “thank you” for business.  You want the clients to have a good time, but more importantly (for your ROI) you want time to socialize and bond with your clients.  Over a few drinks and in a relaxed, fun [...]

If you frequent tradeshows and conferences, you will continually see all sorts of raffles going on at exhibitor booths.  “Win a Harley”, “Chance at an iPhone”.  Over 10 years I’ve seen all sorts of crazy prizes.  BUT LET’S GET REAL PEOPLE.  These raffles are rigged.

Losing your luggage is horrible, no matter what the situation, but when you have a meeting to attend or a conference (especially the same day as travel) it just stinks.  You land and you stand anxiously at the luggage carousel.  After about 20 minutes, you notice everyone has their luggage and there’s like 2 bags [...]
