Breathalyzer advertises it saves jobs

I saw this advertisement in the Skymall magazine on a flight recently.  Alcotest 6510 Breath Tester is advertising that if you are drinking for your job (taking clients out) that this will be your savoir.  Hey in theory a good idea, but let’s look at the down sides.

You are drinking with some real tight laced clients.  You order a scotch, no rocks, they order a glass of Chardonnay… and all split it.  So the night goes on, and after knocking over a chair, you decide it’s time to take out the ol’ Alcotest 6510. Seems like the right thing to do but two things.  What if you are so over the limit you can’t work this technological wonder.  Secondly, what happens if you blow like a 3.0 on the thing.  All the clients are looking at you and 3.0 comes up on the screen… this would be really bad.
Even worse, you are sober and the stupid Alcotest 6510 is defective, thus making you out to look like a raging alcoholic.

Being the Alcotest 6510 Breath Tester is almost $600, I would suggest some alternatives.

When with clients stop drinking if:

- You are seeing double of your client
- You start calling the waitress “honey”
- Upon receiving a beer, you slur the statement “beer is my woman”
- You smoke a cigarette backwards
- You put your feet up on the table.
- Your client shows you his wife’s picture and you call her a wart hog.  
 
Like I said it’s a good idea but there are some less expensive alternatives.  Check out the advertisement below.
