Five crucial additions to tradeshow emergency kits

Posted on 17. Jul, 2008 by PJS in Tradeshow tips and tiffs

The value of a tradeshow booth emergency kit is invaluable.  The contents of your kit will save you time, money and a lot of aggravation.  Tradeshow emergency kits consist of your usual items:  Pens, fishing line, Velcro, packing tape, light bulbs, cutting tools, screw driver etc, etc.  Well it’s time to get a bigger kit.  This post will give you some crucial and innovative items that must be added to your kit for your next show.  If you execute shows you need to read this.
1. Downy Wrinkle Releaser Spray:  You spent an hour pressing your shirt with that 1956 hotel iron and you think you look great.  But upon arriving at the booth a colleague informs you, you have a large crease on the back of your shirt.  Unless you want to store an iron or steamer at your booth, Downy has a product that gets rid of wrinkles in clothing.  Just spray on and flatten with hands, and in seconds your shirt is dry and wrinkle free.  NOTE:  This is not an alternative to traditional pressing, it is meant for emergencies and small wrinkles.

2. Liquid Shoe Polish:  Moving boxes, setting booths, last minute running around… it’s pretty easy to scuff one’s shoes.  No time to run back to the hotel and polish up.  Keep some shoe polish around in your tradeshow emergency kit.  Get the liquid kind that can easily be applied and then brushed to a quick shine.

3. Mints:  Are we on date?  Well sort of.  Your booth staff needs to make a good impression, and being they are talking constantly, the mouth gets dry.  You don’t want DRAGON BREATH.  Staff needs to feel comfortable in speaking with people so mints have to be available.  Now people usually have mints, or there is stock available for the booth, but too often it is a second thought and stock runs out unexpectedly.  KEEP BACKUP IN THE TRADESHOW BOOTH EMERGENCY KIT.  Bad breath does not forge good relationships.

4. Mighty Putty:  As Seen on TV… don’t laugh.  This stuff is great.  This is a new bonding epoxy and it’s quick and easy and can fix mostly anything.  Go to the link below and if you are a seasoned tradeshow marketer, you will certainly see how this product is essential to your booth’s emergency kit. https://www.mightyputty.com/spark/index.php?tag=mpsc200&gad=CNCo5LYEEgjef537wSv_4RiIjqj4AyDwtZwq&gkw=mighty%20puddy

5. Memory Sticks:  While once an expensive item, sticks are drastically dropping in price and regardless, they are a must for your emergency kit. For example: last minute, you need to print more flyers and need to copy a file.  Need to transfer a presentation to another workstation/kiosk.  There are always some last minute content transfers and the memory stick is a savoir.
