Many years ago I took a vendor out to lunch. When I expensed the bill, my fearless boss went through the roof. “They are getting business, they make money, why the heck should WE buy them lunch?” I was taken back as I anxiously grabbed the Applebees’ receipt from his angry, sweaty paws.
